  1. 2. Lord Clermont was lord of Clermont Park about 30 years ago. He was very severe on the men who worked for him. It is said that they had to be in before the lark rose in the morning. One morning a man was running to his work and met a priest who asked him why he was running. The man told him that he had to be in before the lark rose, and the priest said, "May a lark never be seen in Clermont again." From that day, it is said no lark was seen during Lord Clermont's time.
