in the griddle to cook. Some people make it at the present day.
The people long ago used go to the baker and buy yeast and barm for the bread. Yeast is a substance. Yeast was used by getting flour and lukewarm water and dissolving the yeast in the flour and water. When this was done more lukewarm water was added and then the cake was made.
Barm is liquid. It was used instead of milk for the bread long ago. The bread made of barm used be made in the night time and put down to cook until morning. In the morning it would be about four times as big as it was before it was put down.
