An old man whose name was Boland said that a chalice was found under the ground in Salacbouly .he said it was left there by a priest who was hiding during the Penal times. He brought home the chalice and the box the priest keeps the communion in.
There was a hedge schoolmaster living at Bolands at that time .His name was Kennedy .One morning when the people got up, Kennedy was gone and the chalice also.
