  1. Signs of rain - If a flock of crows are seen perched on a high tree.
    When a cat sleeps with his back to the fire.
    When the faoileáns are seen flying inland.

    When the wild ducks come in along the mud after the tide has stranded it is a sign of strong southerly wind and rain.

    When there is blue light in the fire.
    When a thrush is singing on the lower branches of a tree.
    When the swallows fly very low and almost touch the ground.
    When the tide is a muddy colours.
    When the light in the Beaves Rock Lighthouse, which is in the Shannon, on the Limerick side, about six miles in a south-easterly direction from Kildysart, appears to be read.
