The parents of the bride would collect money from the guests to pay the priest. The dinner would be given in a barn or some other big house. A plate was placed on the centre of the table. And each person should leave some money on it for the cook. A boy usually has to take more money into a farm than a girl. No motors were used at weddings then. The day before they would get married they would go to town and buy the ring and clothes.
