  1. An Old Story
    About sixty years ago a saintly blind man belonging to a respectable family lived in or around the locality of Gooldscross. He was very active ad so on many ocassions vaulted over two horses side by side each sixteen hands high. He used to place his two hands on the shoulder of the near horse and clear over the two of them. he had no fixed place of residence, and so used to roam about in a certain area. he was missing for a few days and the people who knew him were very uneasy and nobody could any tidings of his whereabouts. One night a large light was seen on the top of a lime kiln about two hundred yards in: in a large field, in the townland of Piercestown adjoining Goolds'cross. A number of
