    One time a farmer's horse fell into a drain in Rathmoyne. They got him out with the aid of sally rods. A bit of a rod stuck in his back and they let him off without seeing it. The horse was not caught until the following year and to everybody's surprise had not the bit of a sally that was in his back grown into an osiery. What do you think the owner did? He wove them into a ciseán on the horse's back and every year he used it to draw home the turf.
