   a bridge and the soldier said "Hault, get down". There was a house near the bridge and the soldier said, "Go into that house and get a spade and shovel". The car-man did as he was told. They commenced to dig at the abbutments of the bridge and after a short while digging they came on a large flat stone. They both lifted it into the car and the solider said "I'll never be seen on this earth again". He bid the horseman goodnight and he dissappeared. The car man's name was Westropp from Collrea which is near Killestry. Who has not heard to the Westroppe's of Coolrea? They are the most tyrannical landlords living today and are the lineal decendants of the car-man.

   There was a man living in Annagh about one hundred years ago. His name was Mr Ryan Darby. He got married to a girl, but this girl had promised another man that she would marry him but he died. One day she was churning in the dairy he came back and hit her a slap in the jaw and she took to the bed and after a short time she died. After dying
