In years and years travelling folk some with an ass and cart and some with a large basket on their arm used to go about from house to house in this parish, An old woman named Mrs Bradish used to come here about forty years ago on an ass (and) and cart. She usually came before Xmas, Easter and November Day. She travelled on an ass and cart selling pins, needles, sacred objects, ware, clothes, brushes, collar studs and many other things. She collected in part payment feather, horse hair, rabbits, rabbitskins, kid skins, bottles and old rags. She also took potatoes if she got them and eggs. Sometimes she bought
