There used be fairs in this district long ago, which are now discontinued.

There used to be fairs in this district long ago, which are now discontinued. There used to be one held on the tenth of March and another on the sixteenth of October. These two were held in Old Pallas. There used to be another fair held at Cluggin, but I do not know the date. This fair was held in a field.
Sometimes, the day before the fair was held, buyers came to the farmer's houses and bought cattle, and then sold them at the fair at profit. The fairs held in Old Pallas are held near the graveyard. There is luck penny given with every beast that is sold, and then the buyer must pay Toll.
When a horse is sold a rope must be given with him. There are special fairs held for horses, sheep and pigs.
