    resound in every convent and school throughout our land. He is now lying in Askeaton churchyard. His brother Sir Stephen de Vere composed that famous song, " The snowy breasted pearl ". He translated it from an old Irish poem because it appealed to his feelings after the death of his fiancée. He lived over 90 years and is buried in Foynes.
