The Landlord

The Landlord Mr Madden is the land - lord of some of the house in this part of the district. The first landlord was a Mr Collins, after him was his daughter who is the mother of the present landlord. Mr Hunt was landlord after her, and now Mr Madden. People say that Mr Hunt was a better man than Mr Maddon and they say that only for him, Mr Hunt, there would be no houses now at all. Mr Hunt has a house of his own some district south of the village of Askeaton. Mr Madden who is a school teacher lives some miles east of the village at a place called Stonehall. Some people think Mr Maddon is a nice man, others think the opposite thing.

The landlord in my district is Mr Hewson, Mr Hewson is Protestant and he lives in a place called CastleHewson. He owns about 600 acres and he is very kind to his tenants, and person was evicted by him. He was left the land by his father when the people called Johnny Bee because he was very peevish. There are not many eviction at the time, but about 25 years ago some evictions took
