  1. Churning.
    After milking the cows people used put the milk in to a tub to cool the milk. The tubs were called cooling tubs. Then it would be put into cans and left then for a day or two. Then it would be skimmed with a skimmer. Then the cream would be put in to a cream tub and left there for a few days to ripen. Then it would be put into the barrel to be churned.
    If the temperature of the cream was too high it would be cooled by cold water and if the temperature was too cold it would be heated with hot water. When the
