  1. A family story
In Ballinagarry there was an old man living alone in a house which contained a small kitchen and bedroom. One evening during a retreat in the Parish three boys said they would have a joke at this man
They knew that he used to attend at the retreat every evening and that he used to lock his house before going out. One evening just after he was after locking his house one of the boys accompanied him to the door of the church and knowing the pocket he had the key in slipped his hand into the pocket and took the key unknown to him. He unlocked the door. The other boys came then and caught the donkey and (and) taking the wheels from the car brought it into the kitchen put the wheels on it and tackled the donkey to it and then locked the house again. They had all done before the old man had come out of the church. One of the boys went speaking to the old man again and quietly slipped the key into his pocket. The old man opening his door was surprised to see his donkey tackled to the car within the kitchen.
