- Local Place NamesI live in Knocknaboula,, Cnoc-Na-boula which means the hill of the paddocks. It is said that this elevated ground was divided into paddocks where people kept their cattle.
There is a little field in MacNamara's farm which still retains the Irish name, Moa Moinin.
The name of the village is Loughill, Iamcoills wich means, "The Elm Wood." There are still traces of the wood in the village.
