  1. The poem under neath was composed by Mrs Margaret Begley (nee Garde) in the year 1912, when the old Church was ringing out its bells for the last time. The ruins of this old Church are still to be seen in the graveyard in Mogeely. It was used during the Penal times, and was built to replace one that had been destroyed by Cromwell.
