  1. Before the bridges were made people used to cross rivers by means of stepping stones. Another way they used to cross the rivers was by means of a tree, placed across the river, and to which was attached a hand rail.

  2. Children amuse themselves in Summer by stringing daisies and making necklaces of them, and making cats tails also of them. In Spring children amuse themselves by playing tops and skipping.
