  1. Once upon a time an old hag lived one mile and a half at this side of Glanworth in a spot called Labycally Hill. She slept under a big heavy flag with four stone legs under it. The boys of that place used always be vexing her. A boy went up to irritate her one night. She jumped out from her bed and caught a big stone. When he saw her picking it up he ran across a river. The river is called the Funchion. She threw the stone after him and it stuck in the centre of the river. He escaped. The stone is standing in the centre of the river ever since. There was no flood ever moved it because it was too heavy. It can be seen from the roadside by the passersby.
