    Once upon a time there lived in the neighbourhood of Ballyandreen a giant by the name of Geany. Ballygeany nearby takes its name from him. There was no end to his riches. If half of his chest of gold were put on board a liner it would sink. He was a great miser and he swore living or dead he would allow no one to touch one ounce of his gold. He dug a deep pit in Ballygeany and buried all his gold there. There it is unto this day and will be there forever for Geany's ghost is around there watching his treasure and woe betide anyone that
