  1. ÁIRD NA SIOTHCHÁNA
I live in Ballymacandrick. The distance to Rostellan from my house is about three miles. Not far from my house there is a cross. It is called Áirdnasiothchána. A fierce battle was fought in the locality some years ago. Peace was declared at this spot.

    VIOLET HILL
There is a beautiful residence occupied by a gentle-man named Jasper Smith. It is called Violet Hill. Blue and white violets grow there in abundance every year.

    CARRIGACRUMP QUARRY
There is a quarry about a quarter of a mile from where I live and there are large caves in it. It is said there were many usefull things found in it. A golden case and croppy pikes were found there years ago. There is a river running by the quarry. It is called Carrigacrump river.
