    Stiff limbs: Rub in goose grease.
    Chest cold: Rub in turpentine.
    Pain in the head: Put the cloak of St. Brigid on the head.
    To purify the blood: Eat water cress.
    To cure rickets. Give patient plenty of new milk and cream.
    (N.B. All the foregoing cures were brought by children from their parents and friends in Dungourney. They were all written in English, the language in which they were told)
