  1. Leprechauns are a family of fairies. They are usually seen at night time.
    One moonlight night a man named James Thomson walked along the road side. It was about eleven o'clock. He then returned home from a house in which he visited a sick man.
    He walked very slowly, and he heard noise inside the ditch. He stood for a while, and at length he espied the amazing sight under an old tree.
    The man walked on his tip-toes and discovered what he had seen. He rushed quickly to catch the leprechaun but the leprechaun said to him. "Run for you life or the bull will kill you.
    The man foolishly looked behind him, and as he turned around again the leprechaun had disappeared.
