    People long ago had many customs about funerals. When there was a person dead in a house, the people of the house would stop all the clocks and cover all the mirrors. When neighbours would go to the wake, if they did not leave the house before twelve, they could not leave before three. When the funeral left the house, all the furniture would be turned upside down by the people of the house. While the people would be away at the funeral, the door of the house would be left open.
