  1. We grow about half an acre of potatoes every year in ground owned by a farmer. The farmer's servant ploughs the ground. The ground is turned up beforehand, and the potatoes are set in drills. The drills are made with a drill plough.
    Ploughs and spades are purchased in a shop. The potatoes must be cut before being put in the soil.
    Some people help one another at the potatoes.
    In the Summer the potatoes must be sprayed to prevent blight.When the time of digging comes the potatoes are dug
