  1. The following events occurred in ancient times, in the parish of Glanworth, Co. Cork:-
    "A Strange Story"
    About a hundred years ago, there lived in Glanworth, Co. Cork, a man named McCarthy. McCarthy was an only son of a widow. His mother was very old, and McCarthy was her sole support.
    McCarthy was very friendly with a priest named Father O Connell of Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. McCarthy one time worked for Father O Connell.
    One day McCarthy fell sick and became very bad was on the point of death. He told his mother to go to Mitchelstown for Father O Connell. His mother did as she was told.
    The people of the neighbourhood told Father O Connell that McCarthy was dead. The priest went into his room and called him three times and on the
