  1. I
Ye rambling boys of pleasure, give heed unto my song,
Till I relate a verse or two that won't detain you long,
Pressed in grief without relief, in slavery I am bound,
And far from those that wish me well in Sweet Liscarroll Town
    II
When I lived in Liscarroll which I called my native home,
I thought myself as happy as a king upon his throne,
But now when I am far away where strangers on me frown
Who will blame me to shed a tear for Sweet Liscarroll town.
    III
Tis there you'd see fine horses, fine carriages and cars
And gentlemen of honour who came from foreign parts
There's a castle situated with Elevated towers.
And valleys subterranean down by Liscarroll Tow
    IV
'Tis there you'd see those pretty girls dressed up in silk so fine,
Aurora bright, or Helen fair, they really do outshine,
With their hair hung down their shoulders so neatly failing down,
O! there's beauty rare beyond compare in Sweet Liscarroll Town.
