  1. There is a well about half a mile from Castletownroche, called the Eye Well, or tobar na Súl. People used to pay rounds there, and sometimes go at 4 o'clock in the morning to cure sore eyes. The well is situated just near Redstone Well.
    A trout is seen in the well when a person is being cured. The same applies to St Fanchea Well, Micthelstown.
