  1. My father (beannacht De len a ainim) who if he lived would now be about 93 years, told me the names of some schoolmasters in Castletownroche.
    The schoolmaster when he (my father) was a child was named Fleming.
    Another one who taught in C.T. Roche for a short while was named Edmond Lennon.
    Then came John Radley who taught for many years here.
    Wm Fitzgibbon succeeded him. Then came James Lenihan, and then Thomas Kelly.
    My mother was school-mistress in this parish for 40 years, and she succeeded a lady named Miss Hannon who hailed from Rathcormac.
