    Banding of wheels - a big, circular fire with, approx. the same diameter as the wheel-band is made outside. In this the bands are heated until they expand. They are then placed around the wheels & are cooled. Cold water is poured on them.

    Historical connection: Wm. Fitzgibbon (Gibbingsgrove) who was a smith, made pikes for the '98 rebels.
    Mr. 'Bill' Kelly made swords for the I.R.A.
    Mr. Patk. Fox made swords for the I.R.A. of spring steel.
