It is considered unlucky for the bride to attend Mass on the first Sunday after being married but this custom is almost dead. The old custom to endeavour to kiss the newly married lady even in the Church is not popular now though I [haven] one member of a wedding party make the attempt successfully in Milford.T.T. O'Shea - Milford, Ráth Luirc. (47)Fr Donegan, one time P.P. of Milford, had a "gold & silver" ring which he used at marriages. The people were poor and the bridegrooms could not offer the brides the gold & silver. The P.P. used the ring which later became the property of Mr. Jn. Watson's mother.
