  1. People do not get married on Mondays, Wendnesdays or Fridays because it is unlucky. When they go match making one party sends an account to the other and after that they walk the land, and arrange money. The Bride groom and the bride will not leave the same house on the marriage day for they think it unlucky. Every poor person that they meet that day they give them money. Straw boys are not so common as they were long ago. They used to dress up as Straw boys and go around to the house where the marriage was, and make the people give them drink.
