- I play many different kinds of games such as Open high gates, hare and hound, colours, tig, and a lot of others. Open high gates, is a very nice game. Two girls would catch hands and lift them up, then the rest would go under them, singing "open open high." Hare and hound is generally played among the children at school. It is a nice game. All the children stand in a ring and one counts up to twenty and whoever is twenty is the hare. Then they count again and whoever is twenty is the hound.
Hide and go seek is another nice game. Two girls would go and seek and the rest would go a hide. When they would be a hide the seekers would go looking for them and whoever they would catch would be the seeker. In the winter nights we sit around the fire and play the cards or read books. In the Spring time we occupy our time spinning tops and skipping.- Collector
