  1. The penal laws were very severe in my district. There was a man named Stephen Wigmore living in Knockardbane and he used hide the priests and let them say mass in his stall. One priest he used hide was Father O Donnell. It was in the corner of the stall that Father O Donnell used say mass and sleep. This part of the stall is called Father O Donnell's room. There is a path behind my Village in Mrs. O Hea's land called the mass path. There are remains of an old church in the local cemetery.
