    One evening fair to take the air by Keelnahulla o'er
    To my regret Queen Maeve I met which wounded me all sore,
    Her aspect rare did me ensnare as she did in my view,
    As that fairy Queen sped o'er the green down by river "Shue".

    A magic crown of high renown that regal Queen did wear,
    And at her command a diamond band around her forehead fair,
    Her skin more white that snow at night, her equals are but few
