family who lived in Alworth court brought them from England and left them go wild in the demesne to kill rabbits which were becoming a pest in the district. They are very few now the people trapped them because they used to kill lambs in winter.
CRANES. The cranes build their nests in a lawn owned by Maurice Angland who lives near my house. They build their nests on very high trees. About twelve of them build in the same tree. If you went near their nests they would attack you. There are a very large bird larger than a hen. They lay an egg larger than a hen's egg. They build in the same place each year.
