    At Duincha - a townland near Banteer there lived a woman named Mrs Kennedy who when her child was born was carried off by the fairies.

    in-law to sleep in the bed with him and one night they both grabbed her and she told them if they went to Duincha near the river on a certain night, at midnight they would see a number of horsemen passing and that she would be on the second last horse riding Cúlóg behind Jimmy Linehan who was dead several months.
    They did as directed on the appointed night but had with them a priest and several others; the horsemen came along and the priest got those with him to make a huge circle with holy water and after a struggle they got her off the horse and took her home and she lived for years after.
    There is a postman now in Newmarket named Wm. Kennedy and this woman was his grandfather's mother.
