  1. (continued from previous page)
Oh poor old frightened engine man
    So nervy and fairly flooded
No wonder you'd stop a train like this
    Under orders so beastly hurried
Although at times he may be bold
To obey is far more prudent
And he stopped the train on the railway
Where the flash lamp glowed illumed it.

    (V)
And dont the Tommies look cosy there
    They haven't the faintest notion
That lead they'll feel as well as hear
    The rifles loud explosion
Our men had given a bold command
    The rifles to hand over
Or if not they'll surely kill each
    Cowardly Saxon rover.

    (VI)
    For 15 minutes asthore machree
    The Tommies were fairly frightened
They tried to fight as best they could
But our men had torches lighted
By aid of these we plainly see
The place where they are shielded
And after many a short was fired
To our noble troops they yielded.
