  1. Captain John Nash called "Sean Dearg" was a landlord in Brinny long ago. He was captain of the yeomanry in Bandon. He was a very cross man. Brinny is about two miles from Knockavilla and it is three miles from Bandon.
    One day Sean Dearg met a man on Brinny bridge. He asked the man from where he was coming. The man answered that he was coming from "Kilpatrick" and that he was going to "Kilmore". Sean Dearg then replied "You shall not Kill any more" and he took the man and hanged him at that moment.
