  1. There is a mill cituated in Ballindadee. It is near the bridge. It is in Mr MacCarthy's farm at the present day but at that time it was in Mr Lucas's farm. It was built between two and three hundred years ago. At that time it was one of the finest mills in the South of Ireland. It consisted of a huge wheel which was used for grinding all sorts of corn.
    The wheel was about twenty five feet from the ground and was nearly thirteen ton weight. The mill is not worked since the time of the famine.
    At that time the man in charge of the mill was O'Mahoney. At that time there were stores of food to be distributed among the poor starving people. O'Mahoney was to distribute the food among the people but instead of doing so he let the food rot in the stores and the poor starving people died of hunger and starvation. O'Mahoney
