  2. An old man named Dan Bárúil used to travel about here about thirty or forty years ago. His family was the McCarthy Bárúil. He was very queer, but harmless. When I knew him he was a fine hearty old man, dressed in a suit of white which he made himself, and wearing beads and medals about his neck. He would eat only off a white plate, and wouldn't touch
