    men who lived in the locality, Jeremiah Minihane and his brother John who were paid by the members of the Schull Union for doing so. They were placed in deep holes and stones were placed on top to keep away all animals.These stones are still to be seen.
    Another one of these Cills is situated in Kilthomane from which this townland derives its name. It is situated near the sea and is supposed to be the burying place of many.
