    bed and a quarter of a mile to the north-east of it there was a cave which was known as Leabaigh Ghrainne: Granne's Bed but the later cave which was known as Leabaigh Ghrainne no longer discernible because it was closed in by the action of the mountain streams and the debris they bring down with them. Tradition says that Diarmuid Donn and Grainne spent some time in seclusion in this glen when they were being hotly pursued by Fionn Mac Cumhail and his consorts. Tradition further his it that when Diarmuid's linens wanted to be laundered the custom was to roll them around a large stone in order to add weight to the parcel so that it more easily cut the air and go across the glen to
