  1. About a hundred and fifty years ago there was an old school in Shannavallaleigh in our field. It was built of stone and it was thatched. There were about twenty scholars attending the school. The subjects taught were Catechism and dancing. Every scholar paid a half penny a week. The teachers name was Mr Maguire.
