    The cause of the famine was the blight that came on the potatoes.
    When the people died they were not put into coffins or there were no priests in the funerals. But they used to be taken by people on their backs to some field where there was a big hole dug for them and then they were put into it and then earth was put on top of them.
    It is said that the finest wheat crop that ever grew, grew then.
    There were many workhouses in this
