  1. There is an old fort in the parish of Kilglass to which are attached many ancient stories. The owner of this field had an adventure in the fort.
There were many trees growing in a circle on a mound. Once the woner fed some cattle on the mound, but when he came to see his cattle he found two bullocks hanging by the horns in the branches.
Some time after this a man cut the branches off the tree to put a roof on a house, but the house fell. The owner was on a journey and he passed by the fort at night. He had two dogs.
But as he was crossing a low wall, the stones fell on his heels. The dogs barked, and he heard steps behind him, yet he never looked behind. When he reached home, the people remarked how pale he was. One dog died that night, and the other died the next day.
