Long ago there lived in Windsor a poet named John Dooley. ...

    (continued from previous page)
Then adieu my love once you're unkind
    For ever more adieu
There is none can ease my troubled mind
    Since I have parted you.
Tis far beyond the doctor's skill
    My freedom to obtain
Since I have parted from you my dear
    To never meet again.
    Sometimes along those pathless rills
    I slowly bend my way
Some other on you green hills
I'd spend the live long day.
With heart full sore and heavy agh
    In silence I'd remain
Since I have parted from my dear
    to never meet again.
Oh: had I wealth or had I gold
    All treasures I'd resign
All should be bartered, all be sold
    To make my darling mine
But she been rich an I been Poor
    My live did me disdain
It was that which parted me and her
    To never meet again.
