- We have a hand churn at home. It is not tall or wide. The sides are round. It is a small churn and is about eleven years old. We make butter twice a week. It is easier to churn in winter because there is less milk. In summer it is harder to churn because the butter is soft. My mother churns it. It takes about fifteen minutes to do the churning. It is moved by a handle. When the butter beats against the sides of the churn the people know it is churned. Cold water is put in the churn to rinse it down.
The butter is lifted out of a little wooden dish and made into prints. Bread is mixed with the Buttermilk and it is also(continues on next page)- Collector
