  1. People had a lot of old cures long ago. The following are some of them.
    To cure warts put your fasting-spit on it for nine mornings one after the other.
    When the children have the chin cough they would bless themselves three times with holy-water and go in under an ass three times.
    A cure for a pain in your head is to slice an onion and place the slice on a row along the cloth and tie it around your forehead.
    St John's Worth is a good cure for cuts. This plant grows in hedges.
    Soap and sugar mixed together is able to cure boils.
    A cure that was very much in use in olden times and firmly believed by old people was a cure for the chin cough. The mother of the child went out the road and the first man she met riding
