    "The Forge Field" on Mr. Maher's land Damerstown, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny. There was an old forge in it long ago.
    "The Bush Field" Because there is a bush in the middle of it.
    "The Pond Field" There is a pond in the middle of it.
    "The Kiln Field Because there is a lime Kiln in it.
    "The Mossy Hill Field. Because it is a mossy field and on a hill.
    "Brown's Hill". Because people called Browns, Damerstown, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny lived on it.

    The "Castle Meadow," so called from battles with took place there long ago. The ruins of the castle is still to be seen. A man by the name of Major Purcell owned it.
