  1. Some people that lived in the distant past on the roadside between the village of Ballintogher and the town of Collooney Co. Sligo said there used to go a dead coach on this road some particular nights during the year, but mostly in the Winter season. Very few saw it but they could hear the noise of it passing by. When they used to go out to look after it, they could see nothing only hear the noise of running wheels with no sound of any animal pulling it. The people said it used to go to a certain point on the road and disappear.
It was said anyone that saw this coach lived only a short time afterwards. One local person said they were visiting in a friends house along this road one evening. This person was sitting in side the door in the house and heard a great noise of a vehicle coming towards the house. It passed along but the person saw nothing only heard the noise of it. After it passed the woman of the house began to cry and said her time on this world would not be long as she saw the coach as it passed by.
